INTO THE RIDE #108
2012 RANS Rally
by Randy Schlitter
August 30: Dealer Day
Dealer Day is a special day for our bike dealers. At 5:00pm we will meet at Gella’s Diner for a meet-n-greet and dinner. After dinner we will all meet at the RANS factory for a special presentation of the 2013 line-up of RANS bikes and talk about sales and build tips.
August 31: Ice Cream Ride and Tour of Hays
The Rally starts off at 3:00pm from the RANS factory parking lot with a ride to an old fashion Soda Shoppe, followed by a Tour of Hays. The ride is between 6 and 12 miles, depending on how much ice cream we load up on! The tour of Hays can be shortened or lengthened depending on the spirit of the group. It is a very informal slow ride, with no planned course.
September 1: Cathedral Ride
At 8:00am we will all meet in the RANS parking lot for our traditional Cathedral Ride. This year we have a new twist. No one really loves riding on the Old Highway 40, so the ride will leave the factory and turn east at 27th Street taking the back way to Victoria. This way we will have double lanes through the busy part of Hays, and hit the open road where there is less-to-no traffic, avoiding Highway 40 altogether. The ride ends at the RANS factory where we will treat everyone to an old fashion picnic cook-out. Most everyone should be back by noon, but 우리카지노 쿠폰 2019look at the map and decide if you want to take the long or short route.
During the picnic we will present the ’13 line and allow demo riding. After that, we will hold the timed trails on our dirt test track. This was a big hit last year, and this year we will have bikes available for you to ride if you do not bring your own trail bike.
We have many other events and contests lined up for everyone to take part in as well! We finish up the evening with a short awards ceremony.
September 2: Wilson Lake Ride
We will meet at the Midland Railroad Hotel parking lot at 8:00am in Wilson, KS. The ride goes to Wilson lake, crosses Hell Creek bridge, on to Dorrance, then returning back to the Midland at Wilson for lunch. There will be a bonus route that takes you over the Dam and to the lookout point on the west side. See the map for mileage and to decide if the bonus route is for you. The 28-mile loop to the lake through Dorrance has a fun set of hills for 7 miles. Both routes offer up some beautiful views of the lake.
After lunch we say our goodbyes, and we hope everyone has a safe journey back home.
We have secured special rates at two different hotels here in Hays, KS for people coming to the rally. When you call to make the reservation just mention you would like the RANS Rally Rate.
